In just one week, 73rd PGA Championship winner John Daly, 25, has nabbed more nicknames than Arthur Kent did in his first month of the Persian Gulf crisis. Fazed? “Nah,” says Daly, whose 286-yard-average drives teed him out of obscurity last week right into a 12-under-par victory on the PGA’s longest course of the year. “I just can’t go home because my phone will be ringing off the hook.” Next up for Daly: his wedding Oct. 6, the PGA’s Grand Slam of Golf Nov. 12 and fending off the Indianapolis Colts, who want to sign him as a place kicker. “I’d love it!”
