RELATED: Dragon’s Dogma 2: Things The Sequel Should Not Change From The Original Game
As a vast open-world RPG, Dragon’s Dogma is a lengthy game that can last the average player approximately 38 hours. However, that doesn’t account for all the side content, interactions, monsters to be fought, and of course, the Dark Arisen expansion featuring the Bitterblack Isle.
Seeing Everything In Dragon’s Dogma
While Dragon’s Dogma doesn’t have a story on par with The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, its appeal comes from the gameplay, exploration, monster battles, and the unique Pawn system. Players get to create warriors for their team, known as Pawns using Dragon’s Dogma’s robust character creation tools. One can lose themselves for hours by creating the Arisen’s comrades before setting off on Dragon’s Dogma’s quest.
According to How Long To Beat, the main story in Dragon’s Dogma will last most players at least 38 hours. However, The Dark Arisen content includes the Bitterblack Isle post-game content can extend the main game to 55 hours. Completists can expect Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen to last approximately 118 hours. It’s worth noting that the Bitterblack Isle content is lore heavy and new has enemy types. Moreover, completing Bitterblack Isle will reveal the true ending to Dragon’s Dogma.
Is Dragon’s Dogma Still Worth Playing?
Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen borrows ideas from Shadow of the Colossus, Dark Souls, and Skyrim. It’s a compliment to the developers at Capcom’s RPG doesn’t feel like a clone and very much stands as its own game.
More than ten years on, Dragon’s Dogma feels as fresh today as it did in 2012. The Pawn system makes up for the lack of multiplayer as players can share, download, and use custom-created Pawn in their game. The Pawns display an impressive aptitude for battle as their AI learns to zone in on enemy weaknesses. They even learn from their losses and fight in unity as a team. It’s a lot of fun creating and playing around with different classes in Dragon’s Dogma and will keep action RPG fans busy until Dragon’s Dogma 2 arrives.
Dragon’s Dogma is available now for the PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
