This information comes from a leak received second hand by Ken Xyro, a translator and YouTuber with a passion for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. As such, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but Xyro expects this information to be confirmed in the coming days when the publication goes live with it.

According to Xyro, DBZ: Kakarot may feature baseball in some form, perhaps one of the many mini-games or a sidequest, and will see Gohan batting and either Yamcha or Vegeta pitching. If this proves to be true, then many may see it as a welcome break from constant fighting. Xyro also states that the leak reveals Yakon and PuiPui will appear in the game.

Yakon and PuiPui, for those who don’t remember, are two fighters that Goku and Vegeta have to face when trying to reach Babidi and Majin Buu early in the Buu Saga. Because of their role, these fights could easily be skipped over in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot without any seriously repercussions. So, if nothing else, their inclusion alongside baseball shows how deeply this game is intended to explore DBZ.

On one hand, this news may come as a bit of a shock, as it’s not the typical MO for a DBZ game, yet the developer and publisher have promised this to be the most thorough telling of the Z Saga thus far. On the other hand, filler content such as when Goku and Piccolo tried to get their drivers’ licenses has already been confirmed for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, so maybe it shouldn’t be too surprising.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 17th, 2020.
